Questions, answered straight.

The basics

Do you charge to look at my exhaust or brakes?

No. The exhaust check and the brake inspection are free. We put your car on the lift, show you exactly what is wrong, and give you the price before we touch anything.

Will I know the price before you start?

Yes. You get the number before any work begins. We do not start a repair, and you do not owe anything, until you say go.

How long have you been in business?

Over 25 years on East 8 Mile in Warren. Same corner, same standard of work.

Are your mechanics certified?

Yes, our mechanics are ASE-certified. Exhaust, brakes, diagnostics, and general repair are all done by certified techs.

Do you honor warranties?

We accept all warranty work, and our own repairs are backed by a parts and labor warranty. Ask us about the specific term for your job.

Where are you and what are your hours?

We are at 5173 East 8 Mile Road, Warren, MI 48091. Open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM, and closed Sunday. Call (586) 759-0000.

Can you do the work the same day?

Most muffler, exhaust pipe, and brake jobs are done the same day. Come in early or call ahead and we will tell you honestly what we can turn around today.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome. If you call ahead we can have a bay ready and cut your wait, especially for brakes and exhaust.

Exhaust & mufflers

Why is my exhaust so loud all of a sudden?

A sudden loud roar usually means a rotted-through muffler, a cracked or rusted pipe, a bad flange gasket, or a catalytic converter that was cut off. We find the exact spot on the lift and quote the fix, free.

Can you just weld my exhaust instead of replacing it?

If the pipe around the leak is solid, yes, a proper weld is often the right call and cheaper. If the metal is rotted, welding to rust does not last, so we replace that section. We tell you which one honestly.

Do you build custom exhaust?

Yes. We bend and weld pipe on site for cat-back systems, dual conversions, and performance mufflers, tuned for the sound you want without highway drone.

Brakes

My brakes are grinding, is it safe to drive?

Grinding usually means the pads are gone and metal is hitting your rotors, which is unsafe and gets more expensive by the day. Get it looked at now. Our brake inspection is free.

Do I need rotors or just pads?

It depends on how worn the rotors are. We measure them during the free inspection and tell you the truth, sometimes pads are enough, sometimes the rotors are past spec. You get the honest answer and the price first.

How much is a brake job?

It depends on your vehicle and whether you need pads, rotors, or calipers. That is exactly why the inspection is free and the quote comes before any work, so you know the number up front with no surprises.

Catalytic converters

Someone stole my catalytic converter, can you fix it?

Yes. We repair converter theft the right way, with a correct-fit converter welded in properly, and we can add shielding to help stop it from happening again.

My check-engine light says P0420, do I need a new converter?

Not always. A P0420 points to catalyst efficiency, but a bad O2 sensor or an exhaust leak can trigger it too. We test before you buy a converter so you are not paying for the wrong part.
